Also, please ask us about our new line of natural stone thin veneers, which are about 1.5” thick and are produced in 12 different kinds of rock. We also produce a 4” thick Natural Flagstone Veneer that offers easy installation with a real stone look. Both veneers may be viewed on this web site.
This Pennsylvania Flagstone or Pennsylvania Bluestone is also very beautiful and has many color variations, such as green-brown, variegated, lilac and solid blue also known as blue blue or blue select.

Bluestone is also known for its hardness and durability; it is a quartzite sandstone that is unaffected by weather conditions and, therefore, becomes useful in many applications, such as paving, patios, decks, flooring (interior and exterior), treads, risers, hearths, mantels, counter tops, window sills, curbing, stepping stones, stone walls, pool coping, wall caps, wall cladding or column caps. Meshoppen Stone also carries a full line of landscaping stone used for special projects that you or your customer may consider.

There are several different finishes available on bluestone. Natural cleft is a natural split product that has plus or minus 1/8” clefting on the face of the stone. Thermal finish bluestone is sawn on six sides and then thermal treated which gives it a nice textured face. We can also produce a honed or polished glossy finish, which is usually used for indoor tiles, countertops and window sills.

Standard natural cleft paving material comes in several thicknesses; ½”- ¾”, ¾”-1¼”, 1 ¼” -2”, 2”-2½” and 2½”-3”. Our thermal face bluestone is produced in ½”, 1”, 1 ½”, and 2” thicknesses and is gauged within 1/8” tolerance. Both natural cleft and thermal flagstones normally come with a sawed edge. Our thermal tread products come in thicknesses of 1½”, and 2” standard although we can cut any thickness desired from ½” to 6” thickness and beyond. An exposed edge on thermal tread material comes standard with 1 long thermal treated edge. Many other edges are available such as full bull nose, ½ bull nose, rock faced or hand pitched, eased, or chamfered. We also produce a tumbled paver in bluestone that ranges from 1¾”-2” in thickness. With our large fabrication facility we can produce any size or dimension desired including slabs, radius cuts and angle cuts. Virtually anything is possible.

Our basic natural cleft bluestone paving material comes in standard sizes ranging 11½” x 11½” to 23½” x 35½”, increasing in 6” increments. All sizes are nominally cut back ½” to allow for joints in installation. Thickness ranging from ½”, 1”, 1 ½” and 2” are standard although larger sizes are available.

Thermal face bluestone is available also in 11½”x11½” to 23½” x 35½” standard. Larger sizes are also available in thermal material. Thicknesses ranging from ½”, 1”, 1 ½”, and 2” are standard. Thermal tread sizes start at 6” width and increase to 8”, 10”, 12”, 14”, 16”, 18”, 20”, 24”, 30”, 36”, 42” or 48” widths. Standard lengths range 2’ to 8’ although 9’ and 10’ lengths are sometimes available. Standard thickness of treads range from 1”, 1/½”, and 2”, although we can cut any thickness needed. Standard weight of bluestone is between 170 to 180 lbs. per cubic ft. There is a wide range of colors available in bluestone the full color range also known as variegated has a mix of soft greens, blue grays, rust, light and dark browns and soft lilacs. Full color bluestone flagstone is available without lilac, if requested. Blue-Blue or Blue Select is a range of all the blue tones. All pieces are relatively close in color range to each other. Lilac or red flagstone is in the light to dark purple range and is available in standard sizes. Each color range can be used separately or if requested we can do a percentage mix of all colors.
